Haumanu Collective announce the launch of new album and podcast series

 
 
 

During Matariki 2023, Haumanu Collective, have launched the second season of taonga puoro focused podcast series ‘Oro Rua’ as well as a new album He Kete Pūoro Vol 1

Oro Rua Podcast Season 2 aims to inspire and engage people, igniting a passion for these extraordinary stories and empowering them to explore and embrace the cultural treasures of Aotearoa in their own lives. Through captivating interviews, enchanting melodies, and evocative narratives, this podcast series celebrates the profound tradition of taonga puoro, preserving its heritage for future generations.

He Kete Pūoro Vol 1 is regarded as a dynamic fusion of contemporary and traditional sounds, showcasing the enchanting world of taonga pūoro. It is testament to the talented artists, practitioners and makers who worked alongside musicians to bring this art form to life in a compelling, modern context.

Haumanu Collective includes, Hinewīrangi Morgan, Horomona Horo, Elizabeth Gray, Tāmihana Katene James Webster, Jerome Kavanagh Poutama and Awhina Tamarapa.
